Vero CAD/CAM Versatility On Show At EMO

Vero software will be demonstrating the versatility of three of its brands at the forthcoming EMO exhibition.

Michel Reuter, Vero’s Marketing Manager for the DACH region, says EMO, based in Hannover from September 18 - 23, is the ideal showcase for the EDGECAM and WORKNC CAD/CAM solutions, along with CAD analyser WORKXPLORE.

Visitors to Vero’s booth (booth B20 in Hall 25) will see innovations and functionality in the latest software releases, including the powerful Waveform roughing, a high-performance strategy which is available in both EDGECAM and WORKNC. “Faster and safer than ever, the Waveform strategy which works perfectly for hard and tough materials, significantly improves standard roughing technologies with its consistent material removal, while increasing tool life and productivity. Another highlight is the Advanced Toolform Technology in WORKNC, which was developed to use the benefit of modern tool geometries for HFC applications. We’ve already achieved great results with these new technologies,” says Michel Reuter.

WORKNC is described as the premier automatic CNC software for surface or solid models in mold, die and tooling businesses for 2 to 5-axis CNC programming. It is used by many Western, Japanese and Korean automotive makers and well-known OEMs from a range of other industries. A milled jet aircraft model, programmed with WORKNC, will be displayed on the booth to show the software’s full versatility.

The current edition of EDGECAM introduces a new Turning cycle which includes B-axis movements while machining on a turning centre. “This new feature allows greater accessibility when machining complex profiles, by dynamically positioning the insert.”

WORKXPLORE contains many innovative features usually found in high-end CAD systems which enable to the user to perform part diagnostics, create assembly instructions and prepare the production of 3D models. The software, which can open the native files of EDGECAM and WORKNC, was created to efficiently import and analyse all file types and sizes at high speed. It often takes less than half the time to open a file compared to the original CAD application.

Vero will be sharing its 94-square-metre booth with its resellers C-CAM and Timatech, along with parent company Hexagon, who will be demonstrating their Romer portable measuring arm.
